Adult Salsa Dance
Celebrate the vibrant spirit of Latin dance in this fun and welcoming salsa class inspired by Puerto Rican traditions. Students will develop confidence on the dance floor while learning both solo footwork and partnerwork, while refining musicality, rhythm, and technique. Whether brand new to salsa or looking to build upon existing skills, participants will enjoy a supportive environment designed to help them grow, have fun, and experience the energy and joy of salsa dancing!
This program is for all adults, ages 18 and up. No experience is required!
Session #1: September 8–October 13, 6:15 PM–7:05 PM
Session #2: October 27–December 8, 6:15 PM–7:05 PM
- There will not be a class held on November 24 during session #2.
You may register for whichever class(es) best fit your schedule. We recommend enrolling in either one session or both.
- One session: $115
- Both sessions: $200
A non-refundable $25 deposit is required at checkout to reserve your spot. This deposit is applied toward your total tuition. If attending one session, the remaining $90 is due one week before the program starts. If attending both sessions, the remaining $175 is due one week before your session(s) begin.
Register by September 1 for session #1.

Yarelys Gonzalez Lopez is a senior at Butler University pursuing a BFA in Dance Performance. Originally from Caguas, Puerto Rico, she has trained extensively in ballet while also excelling in jazz, contemporary, salsa, and ballroom dance. Since beginning dance at age three, she has performed leading, soloist, and corps de ballet roles in numerous classical productions including Giselle, Swan Lake, The Nutcracker, and Coppélia, as well as contemporary and cultural works and festivals throughout Puerto Rico and beyond. Her training includes programs with American Ballet Theatre, The School of Pennsylvania Ballet, and BCAS Butler Ballet, and she has earned recognition through scholarships, awards, and national dance competitions. In addition to performing, Yarelys is an experienced dance educator and arts leader, having taught multiple dance styles, served as a Resident Assistant for Butler’s Ballet Intensive Program, worked as a social media marketing intern at BCAS, and guest-taught for community and university programs throughout Indianapolis and Puerto Rico.
