    Journeying

Where do the arts take us? Music invites us on journeys that are scenic, profound, challenging, and enlightening. Join the Butler Chorale, Spectra and Chamber Singers for a program that explores these destinations and others, as we showcase the talents and dedication of our gifted students.
Highlights include Jocelyn Hagen’s I Started Out Singing, Susan Brumfield’s No Time, and a selection from the musical Suffs that highlights the journey to equal rights, all performed by Butler’s treble chorus, Spectra, and conductor Becky Marsh. The Chorale looks forward to sharing Ernst Toch’s classic Geographical Fugue, a work of dense counterpoint for the spoken-not sung-word, and the song “Waiting for the Light to Shine” from the musical Big River, a Broadway adaptation of one of the greatest fictional journeys of all time, Mark Twain’s Huckleberry Finn. The combined choirs will share Journey On by Derrick Fox. We look forward to sharing our musical journey with you!
THIS PERFORMANCE IS FREE AND OPEN TO THE PUBLIC, NO TICKET IS REQUIRED.
