Join the Butler Percussion Ensemble for their final concert of the season, led by Percussion Artist-in-Residence Jon Crabiel. This exciting performance highlights the remarkable talent of Butler’s student percussionists as they explore a wide-ranging palette of instruments and styles. From the thunderous drive of bass drums to the shimmering colors of cymbals—and everything in between—the ensemble brings global rhythms and bold musical textures to life. The program features special performances by Butler faculty artists from across the department: Professor Johnny Lee Lane, instructor of percussion; Dr. Will Trachsel, instructor of music theory and world drumming; Dr. Trae Blanco, director of bands; and Robby Buetow, staff percussionist with the Butler Department of Dance. Featuring music by some of today’s most innovative and cutting-edge composers, this concert offers an imaginative and immersive percussive journey that is not to be missed.
