Music at Butler: Benny Golson Jazz Festival

The Butler University School of Music is thrilled to present the fourth annual Benny Golson Jazz Festival, featuring guest artists Kenny Phelps on drums and Emma Hedrick on voice. This educational festival was formed to celebrate the legacy of legendary saxophonist/composer Benny Golson, who received an honorary doctorate from Butler University in 2019. Guest students and directors will participate in educational activities throughout the day. The evening performance, which is free and open to the public, will feature the award-winning Butler University Jazz Ensemble and the Festival Honor Band with Mr. Phelps and Ms. Hedrick.
